Ultimate Bacon, Egg and Cheese Stuffed Burgers

December 5, 2013 by A Savory Feast 4 Comments

image_1Burgers are one of my favorite meals to make. They are so easy and you can make them so many different ways. A few months ago, my boyfriend Andrew and I set out to make the best burger ever. We had made stuffed burgers, turkey burgers with an egg over easy on top, grilled burgers and burgers on the skillet. This new burger would combine all of our favorites into one amazing burger!

You will need:
Ground beef (about 1/4 pound per person)
Sliced pepper jack cheese (1/2 a slice for each burger)
Eggs, scrambled (One egg makes about 4 burgers)
Bacon (One slice fills about 4 burgers)

Start by seasoning the ground beef with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. I usually put the meat in a bowl, add the spices, and mix it all together using my hands so that the burger will be more flavorful. Next, make the patties. They should be thinner than a normal burger since you are going to put two of them together.

Scramble the eggs and cook the bacon. Take one patty and push the middle in to make a bowl to put the filling in. Fill with egg, bacon and half a slice of cheese, folded up. Place another patty on top and seal the patties together.

These burgers could either be grilled or cooked on the skillet. We like how juicy the burgers get from being cooked in a skillet. To do this, put some oil in a skillet and heat it on high. Cook the burgers for 2 minutes on each side to brown the meat. Then, lower the heat to low, cover and cook for 8 minutes or until done.

To complete our ultimate burger, we served the burgers on whole wheat buns and added mayo, more bacon and another slice of pepper jack cheese.
