Soon we are going to be welcoming our first baby into the world! It feels like it is sneaking up on me so quickly. With just days left before his arrival, I’ve been working on stocking my freezer with meals and getting a ton of snacks in the house.

I’m a planner and always want to be prepared, so having my house and especially my kitchen ready for baby is important!

I’ve seen a lot of Pinterest posts about pregnant moms who devote a whole day and prepare a ton of freezer meals. That seemed kind of overwhelming to me, so I decided to work on making freezer meals and getting other food items stocked up gradually.

By making freezer meals gradually, I can also take advantage of sales. One week I was able to get some new york strip steak on sale for super cheap, so I made some steak fajita freezer meals. I could also prep double of whatever I was making for dinner and freeze one meal.

Once the baby arrives, you’ll probably have friends and family bring over food for awhile, but that eventually comes to an end! Freezer meals are a great way to make that transition easier so you can start to do some cooking but not have to do much prep or go grocery shopping.

Everyone has been telling me that you get so hungry and want to snack all the time when breastfeeding! In addition to my freezer meals, I also stocked up on snack bars and made a few other easy-to-grab snacks to freeze. Things like banana bread and muffins are great for freezing and they are easy to make in bulk!

Easy Snack Ideas

KIND Bars
Nature Valley Protein Bars
Healthy Banana Bread from A Savory Feast
Healthy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies from A Savory Feast
Blueberry Chia Seed Muffins from A Joyfully Mad Kitchen

If you are still pregnant, be sure to check out these healthy pregnancy snack ideas! Of course, all of these ideas are great for after the baby comes too.

In addition to food items, there are a few items I stocked up on for my kitchen to make things easier! You can get great deals by ordering these items on Amazon or going to a bulk store like Sam’s Club.

Helpful Kitchen Items

Slow Cooker Liners
Paper Plates
Plasticware
Paper Towels

Another must have before baby arrives? I know having an Amazon Prime membership will be a lifesaver for me! In those early weeks where it’s hard to get to the store, I can order those random items I need and have them delivered in 2 days! Try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial.

I’ve also been stocking up on baby necessities like diapers and wipes. We decided to use Honest diapers, so I signed up with them early on in my pregnancy. Whenever I got a coupon in my email from them, I’d order a bundle of diapers and wipes. Now I have a whole stash in my nursery closet and didn’t have to pay full price!

Are you pregnant or already have kids? How did you stock up before baby arrived?
