Spiced Peach Breakfast Bread

May 1, 2014 by A Savory Feast 13 Comments

spiced peach bread

Do you remember my recipe for Spiced Peach Muffins? If you enjoyed them, you have to try my latest version – Spiced Peach Bread! For this sweet, moist breakfast bread, I used the same ingredients for the dough and added a brown sugar topping.

I love making breads to have for breakfast for the next few days. Warm up a piece in the microwave and enjoy with some butter. Yum!

Here’s the recipe:

For the bread:
2 1/4 cups flour
3 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp all spice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
3/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 (15.25 oz) canned peaches in syrup

For the topping:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp butter

1. Preheat the oven to 400. Grease a loaf pan with butter, set aside.
2. Mix together the flour, cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg, baking soda and salt.
3. Stir in the eggs and sugar.
4. Add the peaches with syrup and sliced them as you stir.
5. Pour the dough into the loaf pan, set aside.
6. Combine all the ingredients for the topping and stir until crumbly.
7. Sprinkle the topping on the dough.
8. Bake for 45 minutes or until done.

I can smell the cinnamon aroma – and I looooooooove cinnamon
I’m not a breakfast girl, and it’s not common to eat such a bread for breakfast here, but as a dessert (with or without whipping cream)
    My family would love it!!

Can you make mini loaves out of this recipe? How long would it take to bake and at what temperature?
