Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas Vacation Part 2

September 18, 2014 by A Savory Feast 34 Comments

Royal Caribbean Nassau

Last week I shared my highlights from Day 1 of my Bahamas vacation on Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas. If you missed it, be sure to go back and check it out!

Day 2 — Nassau

We spent the afternoon of our 2nd day in Nassau. We were supposed to meet up with a local friend who was going to show us around, but that fell through. I really wish we had signed up for an excursion! We ended up wandering around the city for a few hours.

Conch Fritters

We were told that one of the things we had to do in Nassau was try some Conch Fritters! We asked a local where she goes to get them, and she directed us to the Fish Fry, which is an area with over 30 restaurants. She said her favorite was the Twin Brothers, so we stopped for lunch there.

Beach in Nassau, Bahamas

Before returning to the ship, we went swimming in the ocean. The water is so clear and beautiful! It was very refreshing after walking around for several hours.

Towel Animals Royal Caribbean

I love the towel animals on cruises! This was the only one we got, but it was really cute. Those chocolates were part of the extras Royal Caribbean gave me to help with the post! It was great to return to our stateroom after Nassau and find some snacks. When we came back later, they had left those chocolates and champagne!

Our dinner on the second day was the best! The Bay Scallops Gratin was my favorite appetizer of the entire trip! The garlic butter it was served in was perfect for dipping the bread in.

Day 3

Our third day of the cruise was my favorite! We went to Royal Caribbean’s private island, CocoCay. This is my favorite port of call that I’ve been to on any cruise so far! The island is gorgeous and there is so much to do.

There are plenty of excursions and things you can rent (such as snorkeling gear, water floats, etc), but we found plenty to do without paying for any of those options. They also serve lunch on the island! It’s a BBQ with burgers, hot dogs, mac & cheese, salads, cookies and more.

Relaxing in Cococay

I love that there are tons of beach chairs all over the island. You can even drag one into the water to stay cool while you enjoy the view.

Hammocks on Cococay

The hammocks are also a great place to relax when you want to find some shade. Make sure you are cool like me and take a selfie!

Andrew and I took a walk through the Nature Trail. It’s another great way to enjoy some shade while walking off some of your cruise calories. I wish I had better shoes for this trail, there are lots of rocks and roots to navigate.

Cococay drinks I loved the cute cups that you can get when you order a drink on the island. It was really handy to refill with water throughout the rest of the day.

We were all exhausted by the time we got back to the ship! Andrew and I spent some time relaxing in the Schooner Bar. It’s one of my favorite places to chill on the ship. It’s usually nice and quiet! Plus they had the best drink I tried during the trip! This Berry Acai Margarita is the perfect drink to sip while you get ready for another night on the ship.

My favorite dish at our last dinner was this Chilled Strawberry Bisque. It’s like a smoothie in a bowl!

Are you convinced that you need to go on a cruise soon? If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, set sail with Royal Caribbean. You will have a blast visiting Nassau and CocoCay in the Bahamas.

Royal Caribbean provided me with an on-board credit and several extras to help me with this post. We covered the cost of the cruise and anything above the credit ourselves.

Oh girl you are definitely making me want to go on another cruise, or just another beach vacation in general. I love that you could pull your lounge chair out into the water, that’s living the life right there! 🙂

That is a great part of cruising! You don’t have to move your stuff to different hotels, you return to the same room each night but get to travel to different islands.

My boyfriend gets motion sickness easily but he took Bonine and was fine. You should try a short cruise first to see if you can handle it.
