How to… Roast Broccoli in the Oven

March 20, 2014 by A Savory Feast 11 Comments

how to roast broccoli

Welcome to “How to…” a new series here at A Savory Feast! I’m going to be sharing some basic tips and cooking methods to help you improve your cooking. If you have something you would like to learn, please contact me or comment below to let me know!

Today I will be teaching you how to roast broccoli in the oven. This is one of my favorite ways to eat broccoli! It’s a really easy side dish to make and goes with just about anything. I love how crunchy and flavorful the broccoli is when you cook it this way.

Just 3 easy steps and you will have a healthy and delicious side dish to go with your dinner tonight!

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 425. Rinse the broccoli and cut into small pieces. Arrange on a baking sheet.

Step 2: Drizzle olive oil over the top. Now it’s time to season! You can get creative and try different spices. My favorite combination is parmesan cheese, sea salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder.

Step 3: Bake for 15-20 minutes. Serve immediately.

And that’s all there is to it! Give it a try and let me know how it turns out! If you have a different method for roasting broccoli, or a tip to make it even easier, feel free to share in a comment!

I love roasted vegetables a side! Broccoli is my husband’s favorite, and I think asparagus is mine. Great idea for a series! You’d be surprised how many people don’t know basic cooking skills (including me).

Roasting vegetables are one of my favorite ways to prepare them when it’s colder out. One of my favorite recipes for roasted broccoli incorporates lemon, chili flakes, and shrimp.
