Smoothies are a great idea for a healthy snack or breakfast. If you wish there was an easier way to make them before you rush out the door, I’ve got a solution for you! I’m sharing some easy tips for putting together freezer smoothie packs, plus a list of ingredient ideas.
I’ve been getting pretty adventurous with my smoothies. I started out just making berry smoothies, but then I started adding a few spinach leaves. Now I’m able to handle an almost-green smoothie. Plus I’ve been adding carrots and cucumbers for extra nutrition.
If you are like me, you probably feel like you don’t get enough fruits and vegetables in your normal diet. The fruit in the smoothies can mask the greens and other veggies, so it’s a great way to make sure you get the nutrition even if you don’t like vegetables. I know I need more greens in my diet, so smoothies are a great way for me to get an extra helping.
By making smoothie packs to freeze, you can save time and money! Buy fresh or frozen fruits in bulk and split them up into sandwich bags. I recommend creating several different varieties of smoothies so you don’t get bored with the same flavor every day.
Here’s what you need: Head to the store and pick up a package of sandwich bags. Then browse the frozen and fresh fruits and veggies and pick out your favorites! If you aren’t sure what to get, I’ve got a handy list at the end of this post.
How to make your smoothie packs: Chop up the fresh fruit and veggies into small pieces so that they will blend easier. In each baggie, add about 1-2 cups of any combination of fruits and veggies. Seal the bag, pressing out any air. Store them in the freezer (for up to six months) until you are ready for a smoothie.
Mixing up your smoothie: When you want to make a smoothie, empty one pack into a blender. Add 6 ounces of juice, milk or water. You can also add other mix-ins, such as yogurt, oats, chia seeds, protein powder or ice cubes.
What are your favorite smoothie ingredients?

What is one goal you have for your blog in 2015? My biggest goal is just to continue growing and figuring out my end game of where I want my blog to go. I kind of have an idea but I want to have some tangible ways to make it happen!
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Absolutely not. My family is notorious for shopping on Christmas Eve, okay not my family just my dad! I usually start shopping right after Thanksgiving, but it’s quickly sneaking up on me!
What is your favorite holiday recipe? My mom used to make divinity growing up and it’s one of my favorites! It just brings me back to those memories. I need to try to make it myself, it’s a very finicky recipe and I’ve always been too afraid to try to make it!
