Are mornings something you dread? Need a change? Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating the perfect morning routine. One you might even look forward to!
Step 1: Give Yourself Plenty of Time
There is nothing more stressful than being rushed in the morning. Set your alarm so you will have enough time to do everything you need to do before heading out the door.
We’ve found that it is SO nice to have plenty of time to sit down together and have breakfast. It really helps us to wake up all the way before we have to work.
Step 2: Make Time for Breakfast
I feel like a completely different person if I skip breakfast in the morning! It really helps to get me going and feeling good.
Try something new like Nature Valley Cereal! I tried the Baked Oat Bites and Honey Oat Clusters recently, and they are delicious! Having breakfast each morning is a lot easier when you have something simple like this.
Step 3: Do Something for You
Carve out some time in your morning to do something that will energize you, put you in a great mood and get you off to a great start.
For me, that means taking time to sit down and do a devotional after Andrew leaves for work. Some other ideas are doing a quick workout, listening to music, or spending time with your family.
What is your idea of the perfect morning routine?

Thanks, Kristi! I’ve finally come up with a routine for myself that I really enjoy. Except for the whole getting-out-of-bed part 😉

I am the WORST about eating breakfast… then I get to work and I’m starving. Looks like I need to get to work on my morning routine too. 🙂

Eating breakfast makes a huge difference for me! I can’t start my day right without it.

I so enjoyed this post! I am a night owl so getting up early and have a morning routine is quite hard for me, even though I would really like to have one. It helps to have a preschooler that I have to get up and get ready for school, but I’m usually scrambling to get there on time. 🙂 You have motivated me to start rethinking my strategy. Thanks so much for sharing! (and I love Nature Valley products, especially their oats n’ honey granola bars!) 🙂

I’m glad you were inspired! I hope you can try these ideas and enjoy your mornings a little more.

This is a great post! Ever since I graduated college three months ago I have been struggling with this. I don’t work until noon every day, and so my mornings have become a time to sleep in. I really need to harness my productivity and develop a routine again!

I used to work at 11 am and it was so hard to get going in the morning! I had so much time but just wanted to sleep. Setting a routine makes it much easier!

I love this! I also find it really helpful for me to carve out at least a few minutes of reading the Bible and preparing myself for the day ahead 🙂

It makes such a difference for me! Definitely a great way to start the day.
