How I Use CoSchedule to Make Blogging Easier

August 20, 2015 by A Savory Feast 12 Comments

Today I’m taking a break from sharing recipes to talk about something that has made my blogging life so much easier! If you aren’t a blogger, this might be a post you want to skip. But if you are a blogger, read on to learn how you can simplify your blogging life.
How I use CoSchedule to make blogging so much easier!

I’ve been hearing about CoSchedule from my blogging friends for quite awhile now. I used to be really hesitant about any services or blogging tools that cost money. My mindset has changed a lot since I started making an income with my blog. Now, I realize that there are areas where it pays to invest in.

Over the past couple of months, I’ve been focusing on learning as much as I can about each social media platform. I focus on one platform per month and I research and experiment to learn how to better grow my following and convert that following into traffic for my blog.

This month I’ve been focusing on Twitter. I’ve tried out a variety of free services to schedule tweets, but I’ve always had some sort of a problem with each one. My friend Madison from A Joyfully Mad Kitchen told me about her experience with CoSchedule, so I decided to give it a try.

CoSchedule in Post

What sold me on CoSchedule was how easily it integrates into WordPress. As I’m writing my post, I can scroll down and set up all of my social shares. It only takes a minute or two to do!

I used to try to schedule social shares the morning a post went live. The trouble is, sometimes I have a lot of other stuff to do and I don’t get around to it. Or I’m not able to do as much as I’d like. By taking a minute to set up my shares before I schedule my post, I don’t have to worry about how busy I’ll be the day the post goes up.

When you are setting up the social media posts, you can schedule them for the day you publish, the day after, the week after, and the month after. You can also manually add any other date and time you’d like to share the post. This was so helpful for me, as I often forget about posts after awhile. Being able to set up promotion for them over the next month or so is great!

CoSchedule Calendar

The CoSchedule Calendar (which I can easily find on my sidebar in the backend of WordPress) is a great way to see an overview of the posts I have scheduled as well as my social media shares.

In addition to being able to easily drag and drop to reschedule posts or social media shares using the calendar, I can also add additional shares and even to-do tasks for myself!

CoSchedule Top Posts

Another great feature is the Top Posts. It makes it super easy to share old content! You can see how well your posts are doing on each social media platform, and schedule new shares for those posts.

It’s interesting to be able to see the amount of shares you got on each platform. I know how to find the amount of times my post has been pinned, but I never knew how to see the amount of shares I got on any other platform.

CoSchedule makes it easy to schedule old posts

Scheduling social media shares using CoSchedule is so simple. I like all the different options for types of posts. I’ve found that my Twitter posts do best if they have a picture, so it’s nice to be able to set that up quickly and easily using CoSchedule.

To learn more about CoSchedule, you can watch this quick overview video! I am loving how it simplifies social media for my blog. It’s definitely made my life easier!

I ADORE CoSchedule. I’ve been using it for 6 months or longer and I’m a believer. It makes it SO easy to schedule… now if they’d just make it easy to schedule instagram and pinterest! 😉

It’s awesome! I’m really excited to play around with it even more. The day they add Instagram and Pinterest I’ll be over the moon.

This simplified social media for me. I love that it’s integrated into WordPress and you don’t have to remember to go to another site to set up your social media promotion.

This will simplify your life for sure! I’m not sure if you can use it for mult-sites but it seems like you would be able to.
