February Favorites

February 29, 2016 by A Savory Feast 6 Comments

Happy last day of February! It’s time again to talk about some of my favorite foodie products that I discovered over the past month.

February Favorites: This month's favorite foodie products from Starbuck's Molten Chocolate Latte to a Target Cake Stand.

How was your February? This month was a lot of fun for me. It’s my birthday month, and I always love to make a big deal out of my birthday! Plus we had Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day and I took a spontaneous trip to Disney. All that makes for a great month!

Now, let’s talk about my February Favorites. The following products are items I tried out this month and fell in love with, or rediscovered in my pantry or cabinets. They might be food products or kitchen gadgets. Check them out!

#1 Starbucks Molten Chocolate Latte: If you haven’t tried one of these yet, stop what you are doing and get to your nearest Starbucks! This chocolatey coffee drink is topped with chocolate whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. It’s a chocolate overload for sure!

#2 Trader Joe’s Cha Siu Bao Chinese Pork Buns: Andrew and I LOVE getting pork buns when we find a good Chinese restaurant. When I saw them at Trader Joe’s (for only $2.99!), I knew we had to give them a shot. Now, you can’t beat an authentic Chinese restaurant, but these are pretty darn good!

#3 Mrs. Meyer’s Hand Soap: Ok, so this maybe isn’t a food product or kitchen gadget. But, I wash my hands so much when I’m cooking. I’ve always had an issue with dry hands that crack easily. Recently I got to thinking that the hand soap I was using might be an issue. So I gave this one a try and my dry hands cleared up almost right away!

#4: Almond Flour: You know I’m always looking for substitutes for wheat flour since we try to avoid gluten. This month I experimented with almond flour and made these donuts and these cookies. It’s high in protein and adds a great texture to foods.

#5: Target Threshold Acacia Wood Cake Stand: This cake stand was a wedding gift and has been on display in my kitchen ever since. But I hadn’t gotten a chance to use it until I made my Strawberry Chocolate Ganache Layer Cake this month. I think it added to the beauty of the cake, don’t you?

What were some of your foodie favorites this month?

Thanks, Nina! I just tried to order that drink today and my Starbucks doesn’t have it anymore since it was for Valentine’s Day. BUT you can still get pretty much the same thing by ordering a mocha with java chips.

That Chocolate Overload latte is calling my name for sure, but even I have issues with drinking coffee at bedtime! And I know how you feel about the dry hands while cooking, got try that hand soap.

There is a 20% off coupon for that soap on Amazon right now! I’m going to order some more myself.
