Smoothies are a favorite healthy snack in my house! I make one almost every morning after I go for a walk or work out. It’s a great way to refuel my body and cool off.
I also love using smoothies as a way to get my toddler to eat more vegetables, such as spinach!
This recipe is my go-to for smoothies lately. I always keep the ingredients in the house so that I can make them regularly.
Like I said, this smoothie is packed with lots of nutritious ingredients. Let’s talk about each ingredient and why it’s good for you.
Açaì powder: I use this powder that I ordered from Amazon. It’s made from freeze-dried açaì berries which are full of antioxidants! Açaì is supposed to be a good source of energy, so that’s why I like to add it to my smoothies.
Strawberries: Besides tasting great, strawberries are high in vitamin C, potassium, folic acid, and fiber.
Blueberries: Blueberries are also an antioxidant. They also help your digestive system and are good for your heart and your brain.
Greek Yogurt: Adding greek yogurt to a smoothie gives it a nice, creamy texture. It’s also a great way to add some probiotics, protein and calcium!
Spinach: Fresh spinach is so good for you! It contains lots of vitamins and minerals such as iron and vitamin K.
Chia Seeds: This is another ingredient filled with antioxidants and vitamins. The main reason I like to add chia seeds to my smoothie is to add more protein!
Not sure if you are a fan of green smoothies? Don’t worry! Spinach is my favorite for making green smoothies because you can’t taste it at all.
My trick for making sure it gets blended in well and you don’t taste it is to blend the spinach and water before adding in the other ingredients. You can always start by making this recipe with less spinach and work your way up, too.

- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup of fresh spinach leaves, packed
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 1/2 cup greek yogurt
- 2 tsp açaì powder
- 1/4 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
- Place the water, spinach and chia seeds in a blender and blend. This helps to break up the spinach and chia seeds so that you end up with a smoother drink and you don't taste the spinach as much.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth. If it's too thick, add a little more water and blend again. If it's too thin, add more greek yogurt and blend again.
