This ain’t your average cookie! Salty and sweet make a winning pair in this creative take on a chocolate chip cookie, Bacon Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies.
I’ll just go ahead an apologize now for all the desserts on the blog lately. It’s been bad! If you’ve been here awhile, you know I usually share a lot of healthy recipes with an occasional splurge here and there. But it’s the holidays, so I’m reversing that! Fortunately I’ve got a lot of willing taste testers, so I don’t have to eat allll of these treats by myself.

Today I’m joining my friend Erin from The Speckled Palate and more than 50 other bloggers for the Sweetest Season Cookie Exchange! We are all sharing cookie recipes throughout the week (you can find the list here, it will grow throughout the week!).
We are also giving away a fabulous prize pack including a KitchenAid mixer! Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this post to enter to win.
Now, on to my cookie recipe! I’ve been wanting to try making a cookie with bacon in it for awhile now. I am a firm believer that bacon isn’t just for breakfast. I use it in all sorts of recipes, even desserts! If you love the combination of salty and sweet, you’ve got to give this a try!
Each bite of these cookies is packed with flavor. The bacon adds a savory maple flavor. The pretzels add a salty crunch. And the chocolate chips add a bit of sweetness.
If you are in the mood to do some holiday baking, give these Bacon Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookies a try! You won’t regret it, I promise. Be sure to Instagram a picture and tag @asavoryfeast!

Jenna Owens (@aSavoryFeast) says
I’m all about salty and sweet! These cookies have just the right ratio.
Lindsey says
Oh my gosh these look so delicious! I tried a chocolate chip bacon cookie years ago, and it was a greasy mess. I baked the bacon on a jelly roll pan without a rack under it, so the fat didn’t render off. If I give it another go, I’ll try your recipe! I LOVE salty sweet!
Jenna Owens (@aSavoryFeast) says
These were so good! Just cook the bacon nice and crispy and then dab the grease off with a paper towel.
