Blue cheese is my favorite. Lately, I’ve been going through at least one container of the crumbles a week! We include it in all sorts of dishes. I’ve been wanting to learn how to make my own blue cheese dip for awhile now, so I decided to give it a try!
Alexia Sweet Potato Fries and Homemade Blue Cheese Dip makes a great appetizer for game day, a yummy side dish to go with burgers, or even a quick snack for after school.
I’ve made my own sweet potato fries before, but on a busy day it’s so much easier to use store-bought. This Blue Cheese Dip, however, is easy enough to make whenever! So you can at least have a half-homemade dish to serve.
Ever since we started planning our wedding, Andrew and I have been budgeting our money together to be able to save as much as possible over the next 9 months. One of the ways I’ve been saving money is by planning meals for the week and just taking one trip to the grocery store.
While I was at the grocery store this week,ย I was able to pick up the Alexia Sweet Potato Fries. You can find them at your local Wal-Mart!ย They were easy to find in the freezer section. It was hard to choose between all of Alexia’s delicious products! I’ve been on a sweet potato kick lately, though, so I had to give those a try.
Once you have all your ingredients, follow the directions on the package to cook your fries. The dip is super easy to mix up, and you can make it while the fries are baking, with plenty of time to work on the rest of your meal, too.
I loved the combination of flavors with the blue cheese and sweet potato. If sweet potato fries aren’t your thing, Alexia also has onion rings and crinkle-cut fries.
This recipe is perfect for game day! Instead of heading out into the weather, tailgate at home with your friends. They will go crazy for this homemade blue cheese dip!

They complement each other so well! You should give this a try sometime soon.
Jenna Griffin says
Mmm, love sweet potato fries! I’ve tried frozen ones like these, but mine turned out soggy. Any tips to prevent that? ๐
Jenna Brussee says
Have you tried this brand before? I followed the directions on the bag and they turned out great! If you still get soggy fries, try placing them on a rack closer to the bottom of your oven. Heat rises, so placing them closer to the source should help. But watch that they don’t get burnt!
Katie Kashner says
We love these and we have made homemade and both times, they are soggy like Jenna says! The ones at the restaurant are great. Yes, do you have any recommendations on how to fix this? ๐ ๐ Can’t wait to try that dip, by the way!
Jenna Brussee says
This brand turned out great for me! I make homemade sometimes too but I usually make them more like wedges. They don’t turn out soggy for me. Are you making them thin like these? Maybe try them as wedges next time? And if that doesn’t work, you can try broiling them for the last few minutes to be sure they are browned and crispy.

My LG loves everything sweet potato related so he would love these. I will have to try the blue cheese dip!
Jenna Brussee says
This blue cheese dip is suuuuppppeeeerrrr easy to make! I won’t buy store bought ever again now that I know I can make this dip in minutes.
Steph @Sustaining the Powers says
I have tried super, super hard to like blue cheese. Somehow, it just tastes moldy to me. I definitely love these sweet potato fries though! Do you think I could substitute something else for the blue cheese in this dip?
Jenna Brussee says
Aww, that’s a bummer! My sister-in-law is the same way, and I wish I could convert her. You could try it with feta cheese if you like that. It has a similar texture to blue cheese.
Steph @Sustaining the Powers says
I didn’t think of Feta! I’ll have to try it. I really want to be a fan of blue cheese, but I can’t seem to convince my brain to like it. I finally like dill pickles and brussels sprouts now after many years of thinking I didn’t like them though, so maybe there’s hope!
Gennie says
I love sweet potato fries, and I’ve tried to find these for a while, but I haven’t had much luck. I’ll have to try it with the blue cheese dip, too! thank you!

I found them at Wal-mart, Publix and Winn-Dixie. Not sure if you have all of those stores, but it’s worth a shot!
April Huggler says
Our local Wal-mart has them and so does our Kroger.
