8 (Not-Your-Average) Salad Ideas

May 8, 2015 by A Savory Feast 30 Comments

Need a way to mix things up? Switch out your normal salad for one of these fun ideas! These salads are colorful, creative, and delicious! Don’t settle for a boring side dish, add some flavor with these recipes.
8 (not-your-average) Salad Ideas
When it comes to salad, I’m all about texture! My favorite way to eat salad is as the main dish, with some chicken or steak on top. The more ingredients, the better. I especially like having eggs and avocados in my salads.

All of these recipes came from my blogging friends or were linked up at Hump Day Happenings. Be sure to link up your posts for a chance to be featured in my Friday round up!

All of those look delicious!! I’m such a fan of salads – especially with homemade fresh dressing. The best salad I ever had was a special at a local restaurant, made with Boston lettuce and had the most perfect marinated grilled flank steak sliced across, with a mustard vinaigrette. YUM.

    These salads look amazing!

My favorite salad is a French salad called chevre chaud. Basically it’s hot slices of goat cheese on squares of toast in a green salad with a mustard-honey vinaigrette.
