5 Money-Saving Grocery Apps

September 15, 2016 by A Savory Feast 9 Comments

Looking for an easy way to save money on groceries? If couponing just isn’t your thing, try downloading these money-saving grocery apps! It only takes a few minutes to save big on groceries with these apps.

5 Money-Saving Grocery Apps // Looking for an easy way to save money on groceries? If couponing just isn't your thing, try downloading these money-saving grocery apps! It only takes a few minutes to save big on groceries with these apps.

This post contains affiliate and referral links. By signing up for these apps through these links, you’ll be supporting A Savory Feast at no extra cost to you. All the apps mentioned here are ones I use and recommend!

I’ve never really been able to get into couponing. I used to try to at least flip through the coupon mailer and remember to use the ones I clip, but I ended up forgetting to bring my coupons most of the time.

I’ve found that what works much better for me is using grocery apps for coupons and deals. When I sit down to meal plan each week, I take some time to scroll through these apps and see what kind of savings I can find.

The nice thing about using an app rather than clipping paper coupons is that you always have your phone with you, so you don’t have to worry about leaving the coupons at home! You can even check your app at the store to see if there are deals for anything you are buying.

#1: Ibotta

My current favorite grocery app is Ibotta. Instead of coupons, you can earn cash back for buying everyday grocery items!

Before you shop, check the app for cash back offers on the products you are buying. When you get back from the store and are unloading your groceries, get back on the app to scan the products you bought and take a picture of your receipt. Just like that, cash back!

In addition to getting cash back on your groceries, they also have lots of bonuses and challenges to help you rack up cash even faster.

#2 Amazon Prime

Did you know you can get great deals on groceries through Amazon Prime? I use Amazon all the time to order grocery or household items. It’s great for when you forget to pick up something at the store. Most the time it will cost less on Amazon, plus you’ll get it in 2 days with free Prime shipping.

Another way to save on groceries is by using Prime Pantry. Fill a box with grocery items and pay a flat fee to have it delivered to your door. With qualifying items, it ships free for Prime members!

#3: Cartwheel

If you are a Target shopper, you need to have the Cartwheel app! They have deals on all sorts of items in the store, including groceries. I love their scanning feature. When I’m getting ready to check out, I can pull up the app and scan all the items in my cart to see if there are deals available on anything I’m buying.

#4: Checkout 51

I just recently started using Checkout 51, but it’s an easy way to get cash back on groceries, too! Check the offers before shopping and then upload a picture of your receipt when you get home. Each time you hit $20 cash back, they send you a check!

#5: Your Favorite Store’s App

Did you know some grocery stores have apps that offer coupons or deals? Check to see if your favorite grocery store has one! I do most of my grocery shopping at Winn-Dixie, and they have a great coupon app.

Read about all the easy ways I save at Winn-Dixie here!

Do you use any of these apps, or do you have another to tell me about?

I use all of these and love getting the extra savings! The best is when something you’re buying is featured on more than one app, it’s how I get free items!

That is the best! I’ve been able to do that with combining Ibotta and Checkout 51. It is always a good idea to check both apps!

I am a coupon lady and LOVE this list. Cartwheel is by FAR my favorite app – I usually shop for what I need and then just scan my cart before checking out, just to make sure I haven’t missed any offers.

Stacking manufacture coupons, Target coupons, Cartwheeel, and then Checkout51/Ibotta makes my frugal heart so happy!

Oh how I wish I had a Target close by! Ibotta is by far my favorite app, but I also love Walmart Savings Catcher. I’m trying to get into Checkout 51, too.

I would be so sad without a Target nearby!
