Meal planning is a great way to get organized so that you can cook dinner more often. There are a number of ways to meal plan and lots of things you can do to make it easier. Here are a few of my favorite methods!
If you are a regular reader here at A Savory Feast, you know that I love talking about meal planning! Every week I plan out the dinners I’ll be making for my husband and I that week. Doing this helps me to save lots of time and money because I can make fewer trips to the store and we eat out less often.
#1 Do It Yourself
Meal planning can be so easy to do by yourself! Once you set aside a weekly time to plan and grocery shop and figure out a system, it’s very manageable.
Your meal planning system can be super simple or you can add in a couple extra steps to save even more money such as checking coupons and sale ads before coming up with your plan. Here’s how I save over $200 a month with meal planning!
There are so many great resources out there for finding recipes when you meal plan. You can use cookbooks, Pinterest, Yummly, your favorite food blogs and more.

#2 Use Meal Planning Service
If you just don’t have the time to sit down and plan out your meal plan for the week? Try using a meal planning service!
#3 Use a Meal Delivery Service
If you don’t have the time to grocery shop each week, try using a meal delivery service such as Blue Apron. These services send a box straight to your doorstep that includes all the ingredients and instructions for cooking a delicious homemade meal.
You can read my review of Blue Apron here.

We meal plan too. We usually go to the grocery store on Sundays and buy whatever we need that week (this includes the food I will cook plus anything else we might be out of – like Tide, cat litter, soap, toothpaste). That definitely helps me stay on track since everything is already at the house and I usually don’t need to go back to the store to pick anything else up. Plus, the store isn’t convenient, so this saves my sanity too.

Going to the store once a week makes things so much easier for me! It saves time and money for sure. I have to be more organized and take the time to plan out a shopping list, but it’s worth it!
