One of my favorite holiday traditions is baking cookies! Whether I am making them for a holiday party or just because, it’s one of the things I have to do during the holidays. I’ve collected a few classic favorites and creative new recipes for you to try this season.
A few days before Christmas, my aunts and cousins all get together to bake cookies together. There are a few traditional cookies that we always make, like sugar cookies that we decorate with holiday sprinkles. Sometimes we try a few new recipes, too.
Pumpkin Snickerdoodle Cookies from Wetherills Say I Do
Red Velvet Cool Whip Cookies from Divas Run For Bling
Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies with Brown Sugar Glaze from A Savory Feast
Salted Caramel Thumbprint Cookies from The Speckled Palate
Molasses Spice Cookies from A Short Blonde
Ginger Cookies from Creative Southern Home
Russian Tea Cakes from O Taste and See
Peppermint Dark Chocolate Cookies from The Speckled Palate
Minty Mascarpone Oreo Snowflake Cookies from The Tale of Two Kitchens
Lemon Cookies from Happy 2ba Homemaker
White Chocolate Peppermint Kiss Cookies from Sunshine and Hurricanes
Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies from The Speckled Palate
When I was a kid, we always come home from our family Cookie Baking Day with tons of cookies. We would put together plates of cookies to bring to the neighbors or some of our friends. If you want to start this tradition with your family, you will need some festive cards so you can include a handwritten note with your cookies!
One of my sponsors this month is Not for Nothing Y’all, an Etsy shop that sells funny Christmas cards. Be sure to check them out! You can use code XMAS15 for 15% off an order of $10 or more. You can also visit Brittney’s blog!

I’ve hit the mother-load of cookies! My grandmother always made cookies for Christmas and we’ve tried to keep that tradition alive because they were always SO good! All of these sound amazing!

Jenna Brussee says
Let me know if you try some! Did you move?
TheAdventuresofBugandBoo says
I will!! We started – we moved over the boxes we had in the basement here, some groceries and cleaning items, and some clothes. Everything else we own – furniture, appliances, toys, books, etc etc – is in a storage unit that will be delivered tomorrow and then the movers come on Tuesday…so we should be mostly moved in by Wednesday!! Exciting times ahead… =)
